Bearly Ginger 

Bearly Ginger is a design studio in the East End of Glasgow. Co-owned by Rachel McMillan and Piotr Pyrchała it aims to provide Glasgow with contemporary sewing and pattern cutting classes as well as a bespoke service to make your design dreams come true.

Having both trained professionally in fashion design and classic construction, Rachel and Piotr are keen to open their studio space to the wider community to share skills, learn and create in a relaxed and stress free environment. 

Rachel (The ginger half ) 

Rachel McMillan, winner of The Best New Sustainable Online Business at The Herald Fashion Awards has over 7 years experience in the Fashion and Textile Industry. Rachel worked for Felder Felder in London, assisting at London Fashion Week before launching her own label in 2015. Graduating from Heriot Watt University in Galashiels, Rachel always had a vision of running her own sustainable label from her hometown in Glasgow. She is an advocate for supporting students and reviving the fashion and textile industry in Scotland. Rachel is passionate about a more sustainable future for fashion and has spoken on panel discussions for Fashion Revolution, Edinburgh International Fashion Festival and a film screening with Vogue Italia. Piotr (The Bear half) 

Piotr Pyrchała's interest and love for making clothes goes back to early memories of watching his mother on her sewing machine. In his late teens Piotr moved from Poland to Manchester to pursue his career in Fashion and garment construction. He graduated from Manchester College with a degree in Fashion Design and Clothing Technology. 

Piotr is most famously known for being in the top 5 contestants as part of the Polish Project runway. After gaining invaluable experience within the show and working on a number of highly skilled freelance jobs, Piotr launched his own brand Birds of Prayers. Now based in Edinburgh, Piotr works with a number of start up brands to help with manufacturing and consultancy and wants to continue sharing his skills and knowledge with others.
